Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official statement which verified that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed based on standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event is not the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has encountered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical fault.
