The UK is set to progress with using the total value of seized Russia's funds to support Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany stated that this joint measure would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They clarified that the decision would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

British sanctions have frozen over £25bn of Russian resources since Russia began its widespread offensive against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, up to this point, resources allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had solely been drawn from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their aim to advance efforts toward employing the total worth of the frozen Russia's state holdings to conclude the conflict.

He stated that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This announcement follows EU representatives convened in the Danish capital recently to discuss employing frozen Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro credit to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to take or otherwise use seized Russian funds, according to news outlets.

The worth of frozen Russia's funds in the Europe is assessed to be approximately €211bn.

Moscow carried out extensive bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on that day, resulting in blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.
