Los Angeles Explodes in Celebration as Los Angeles Dodgers Claim Back-to-Back World Series Victory
Los Angeles experienced widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series title. Supporters worldwide united with Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.
The parade route concluded at Dodger Stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and the artist cruising a light blue vintage Cadillac around the field.
Pre-Parade Festivities and Player Reactions
Celebrations began prior to the parade, with supporters setting off fireworks in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke plainly about the win.
“Losing is not an option,” he stated. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

However, the team owner was met with a cooler reception at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers punctuating his address.
The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed equal or greater support.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” he remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
