The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, claiming that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. Its website states: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. It offers these beautiful courses for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
