Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
